1. Who we are

SPANA (Pty) Ltd ("SPANA", "we", "us") is the data controller for personal information collected through the SPANA app and website.

2. What we collect & why

  • Account data (name, email, phone, password) — to create and secure your account.
  • Profile data (avatar, country, preferred currency, location) — to match customers with nearby providers.
  • Provider data (skills, certifications, hourly rate) — to display providers to customers.
  • Request & chat data — to deliver the service.
  • Device & usage data (IP, push tokens, device identifiers) — for security, push notifications and product improvement.

Payment-card data is never seen or stored by SPANA. It is collected directly by Paystack, our payment processor.

3. Legal basis

We process data to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in operating and improving SPANA, to comply with legal obligations, and based on your consent (e.g. push notifications, marketing).

4. Who we share data with

  • Paystack Payments (Pty) Ltd ("Paystack") is our payment processor for cards, EFT and mobile money. Paystack collects and processes payment details to complete transactions on our behalf.
  • Hosting & infrastructure providers (Supabase / Lovable Cloud) — to store and serve your data.
  • Other SPANA users — only the limited info needed to fulfil a job (e.g. first name, location, masked phone) is exchanged when both parties engage.
  • Authorities — when required by law.

5. Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal and accounting obligations. You may request deletion at any time.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact vusumuziisaac@gmail.com.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit, role-based access controls, row-level security on our database, and regular reviews to protect your data.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies/local-storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
