How much does it cost to request a service provider in South Africa?

On SPANA you pay one flat request fee to get a verified provider to respond to your job. The fee depends only on how far away the help is — never on the size of the job.

The three distance tiers

  • Within 30 km — R200. A provider nearby accepts your request, you pay the R200 request fee, and the job is confirmed.
  • Within 50 km — R400. The same flow, for providers a little further away.
  • Beyond 50 km — provider fee offer. The provider sends you a fee offer through the app. You accept and pay in one step, then schedule the booking.

What the request fee covers — and what it doesn't

The request fee is paid to SPANA for matching you with a provider. Providers never pay subscriptions or commissions to be listed.

The work fee — the cost of the actual repair, installation or service — is agreed between you and the provider and paid directly to them. SPANA never handles or takes a cut of work fees.

When do you pay?

Only after a provider accepts your request. You'll see a Pay button under My Requests; once the request fee is paid, the job is confirmed. Payments are processed securely by Paystack in ZAR, USD and CNY, and request fees are covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Which services can I request?

Plumbers, mechanics, electricians, nurses, builders, hairstylists and many more — see the full list on the SPANA home page or browse a category like plumbers.
